Volunteers at B30 Foodbank have been delighted that we were contacted by Food Waste Hero, Court, from the sharing and surplus food app @olio.app recently.
Court explained what she does: “I volunteer to collect surplus food from local businesses to save it from going to waste. Once collected I then take photos and list it on the free app OLIO for people to request and collect. We collect use-by and best-before food which is due to expire that day. It can be things such as meat, sandwich fillers, ready meals, fruit, vegetables, bakery, bread items and much more. Any still in date, best-before food that isn’t collected after 2 days I will bring to donate to B30 Foodbank”
